The 20th anniversary edition of the Tauron Nowa Muzyka Festival kicks off on June 19, in the heart of Katowice. It is four days full of sounds, meetings and unforgettable experiences, which will officially inaugurate this year’s festival season in Poland. As many as 64 performers will appear on the stages, and the whole will be complemented by numerous accompanying attractions. Passes and tickets are still available at https://festiwalnowamuzyka.pl/.
The jubilee edition of the Silesian festival will be marked by electronics at the highest level. Between June 19 and 22, in Strefa Kultury there will be 8 stages, where the great personalities of the contemporary scene will play, as well as the most interesting new faces.
The main star of the anniversary edition will be Underworld – the duo behind the 90s rave anthem, “Born Slippy (Nuxx).” Their concerts are mesmerizing spectacles combining sound, image and a powerful dose of energy. TV On The Radio, one of indie rock’s most distinctive bands, will also play at the festival. After ten years of silence, they are returning in grand style, and their only concert in Poland will take place in Katowice. CocoRosie – sisters who have been combining experimental pop with poetic sensibility for years – will also appear on stage. Electronics fans will be pleased by the presence of Richie Hawtin, a techno giant who will present his new audiovisual project DEX EFX X0X. The list of headliners could also not miss Jeff Mills, author of the iconic “The Bells” – a visionary who proves that techno is not just music.
The festival program presents a wide spectrum of electronic music. Berghain, British bass, techno-experiments, global rhythms and the Polish underground – the 20th edition of Tauron New Music Katowice is a cross-section through almost all shades of fresh sounds. In addition to Strefa Kultury, there will be plenty of club spots on the festival map – Sztauwajery and JAZBAR Muchowiec will be open all weekend. It is at JAZBAR that FAJRANT! – the final dance marathon on Sunday, June 22, whose star will be a German DJ, Michael Mayer.
In addition to the pulsating sounds, there will be activities from the broader culture. The Rondo Sztuki gallery will be operating on the festival grounds, and in cooperation with the Silesia Film Institution, an audiovisual performance FURIA gra kino will be held. Special activities are also planned by the Silesian Museum, which, with a festival wristband, can be visited for a symbolic zloty. The well-being of the audience will be taken care of by exhibitors from the Catering Zone, which will also feature gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan offerings. As every year, it will be possible to use a public keg truck from Katowice Waterworks and take care of hydration for free. From June 19 to 22, 2025 Katowice will once again turn into a vibrant music festival center that will attract thousands of fans.
