- World-class organization
4 days brimming with sonic euphoria – for the twentieth time, Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice played with full force. Fresh sounds pulsated on seven stages in Strefa Kultury, where about 20,000 fans enjoyed themselves. Excellent weather, an exceptional line-up and a climatic location created a festival atmosphere that will not be forgotten. The next, the 21st edition of the event, will be held in June 2026, with the City of Katowice co-hosting the festival.
The twentieth edition of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice was inaugurated with an opening concert in the majestic concert hall of NOSPR, performed by master of piano, Francesco Tristano. The next two days of festival performances brought a fascinating mosaic of styles – from subtle electronica, to dark techno, to alternative and experimental sounds. Fans of fresh sounds were able to experience both musical surprises and stellar performances. The most awaited concert was the excellent performance by Underworld. The audience filled the MCK hall to the brim to hear live hits such as “Born Slippy (Nuxx)” and “Two Months Off.” Floating Points’ performance with phenomenal visuals by Akiko Nakayama also made a huge impression. Austrian duo HVOB once again proved their status as the best live act in the world. Ela Minus also attracted fans with her immense stage charisma, while multi-faceted electronic music was served up by master Alva Noto.
One of the biggest surprises of the festival was the enchanting performance by Polish harpist, Marysia OSU, at the NOSPR Hall, as well as the fiery show by Kenyan artist KABEAUSHÉ at the Amphitheater. Unfortunately, due to the illness of one of the vocalists, the CocoRosie concert did not take place, and Joy Orbison also did not play at the festival due to injury. However, the richness of the program, which included as many as 65 artists, made the festival dance marathon last from Friday until Sunday evening. The culmination of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice was FAJRANT! at JAZBAR Muchowiec, a dance party headlined by the reliable DJ, Michael Mayer.
However, Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice 2025 is not just about concerts – it is a full-fledged city cultural event. The program included the festival’s Rondo Sztuki gallery and the audiovisual performance Furia gra Kino, co-organized by the Silesia Film Institution. The chillout zones of partners Lech and GZM were very popular. There was also interest in a separate stage organized by the Belarusian underground collective, Bassota Crew. However, the most impressive was the NOSPR Stage, which was in continuous operation. The amazing space of the Concert Hall hosted intriguing concerts throughout the festival. In addition to musical and artistic impressions, there was no shortage of pleasures for the body, which were taken care of by exhibitors from the gastronomic zone. In addition, festival goers drank the contents of as many as two barrels provided by Katowickie Wodociągi S.A. The fully free water satiated the thirst of some 20,000 fans.
The anniversary edition of TNMK was one of the most successful in the festival’s history and whetted appetites for the next, already 21st edition of the event. Extraordinary experiences, world-class artists and a distinctive location – Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice has for years created an atmosphere that cannot be imitated.
Thank you to the sponsors and partners of the festival!
