Only 6 weeks until the Opening Concert of the 20th anniversary edition of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice. This is a great opportunity to expand the program to include 8 exceptional artists of the underground scene. Thus, the program of this year’s festival grows to 51 projects. Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice has for years been famous for its multi-genre character and many surprises. It will be no different at the 20th anniversary edition, whose program is bolstered by exciting underground and alternative artists.
The announcement opens with asthma, a rapper, actor and performer who combines the emotional depth of his lyrics with energetic, non-obvious sounds. In April 2025, he released his third solo album, whose musical layer is the responsibility of such diverse artists as Kuba Karaś, Kuba Więcek and Wuja HZG, among others, associated with alternative, rap, electronic and jazz. An even more far-reaching fusion of genres is presented by the festival’s next guests, the Brassers band. The nine-member orchestra from Warsaw is a brass band combined with electronics and jazz music inspired by techno and house. Their instrumentation includes both traditional brass and contemporary electronics. The combination of danceable techno beats with the musicians’ improvisations guarantees lively concerts and lots of energy!
Radical electronica at the festival will be represented by Avtomat, a queer producer, DJ and singer associated with the Ciężki Brokat collective. Sounds of nu italo, electro, acid and cold wave, in turn, are the domain of DJ and producer Charlie, who has been conquering the floors of European clubs for years. She is also a talented pianist, which attracted her to liveact with the use of analog synthesizers, which she presented, among others, in the cult club Panorama Bar. In Katowice she will play an electrifying dj set.
The 20th edition of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice will also feature a strong representation of the underground scene of neighboring countries. SPIEVY z-pad mosta is a choir of immigrant women from Belarus and Ukraine, which performs traditional Belarusian songs and songs from the borderland of Slavic territories (Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania). Completely different sounds will be provided by the Belarusian collective Bassota, formed by excellent DJs in love with broken rhythms and deep bass. Holly Molly, Kipah and Kitty Sarcasm are also generating interest in Poland because of their surprisingly fresh music selection and considerable charisma behind the console. During the June festival weekend, they will rock the audience in Strefa Kultury w Katowicach!
Between June 19 and 22, 2025 Katowice will once again pulsate with music and attract thousands of visitors. Unique emotions, memorable concerts, exceptional artists and a unique location – this is the shortest recipe for the Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice festival.
