The 20th edition of Tauron New Music Katowice festival will be marked by electronic music at the highest level. Great personalities are about to join the program – techno icons from Berghain, stars hailing from the British bass scene, as well as a specialists in sensual house, and master of experimentation and leading creators of electronic music. Nine great artists will play in June 2025 in Katowice! Passes and tickets available at https://festiwalnowamuzyka.pl/.
The first announcement of the 20th anniversary edition opens with a special figure. Ben Klock is one of the world’s most sought-after techno DJs. Since 2005, he has remained closely associated with Berlin’s legendary Berghain club. He weaves a dancefloor tale with outstanding talent and feels the needs of the dancers like few others. He is also the author of “Subzero,” to this day one of the most popular techno songs. In June in Katowice he will be accompanied by another representative of the Berlin scene. Marcel Dettmann is also a passionate DJ and producer, and one of Berghain’s residents. Using raw, reduced sounds, he puts dance floors into hypnosis, breaking it with surprising moments full of emotion. Dettmann also integrates techno with other varieties of art, recording for ballet and photography exhibitions, among others. The festival will also feature no shortage of female DJs. Gina Sabatini was an active creator of the Berlin scene for years and now resides in Leipzig. She specializes in hypnotic, downbeat and slowhouse sets.
Fatima Yamaha was an unsolved mystery for years. An unidentified “young lady born of a Japanese father and Turkish mother” was said to be hiding under a pseudonym. We now know that Bas Bron, a Dutch producer with many incarnations, is actually responsible for the project. His biggest hit “What’s A Girl To Do” saw the light of day in 2004, but only a decade later catapulted into the list of electronic classics. Since then, Fatima Yamaha and his live performances have consistently met the highest expectations, offering sophisticated house and techno complemented by synthesizer virtuosity. The same will be true in June, when he will play a live formula, accompanied by a full band, with live vocals and special visuals.
With a new and amazing liveshow, Floating Points, well known to the festival’s audience, returns to Katowice. Over the past decade, the Londoner has won widespread critical and audience acclaim for bridging the gaps between dance electronica, jazz and classical and experimental music. At the festival, however, we’ll hear material from his latest, highly dancefloor-oriented album “Cascades”, enhanced with visuals painted live by Japanese artist Akiko Nakayama. Floating Points live is the mind-expanding and emotion-cleansing power of electronic music in a futuristic setting. This could be one of the biggest events of the upcoming summer!
Also coming from London will be Joy Orbison, author of many timeless hits such as “Hyph Mngo” and brilliant remixes for artists such as Lana Del Rey and Jorja Smith. He has compiled playlists for the game Grand Theft Auto, hosted a show on BBC Radio, and regularly collaborates with Overmono – Joy Orbison is synonymous with the uncompromising quality of the British scene, and will soon return with hot new material. During Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice, he will present the freshest sounds of London.
An equally intriguing figure is Marco Shuttle. He is a DJ and producer residing in Berlin, but born in Italy. His productions are very deep, abstract and atmospheric, full of hazy patches and punctuating percussion. Marco Shuttle builds tension in a subtle way, taking listeners on a journey to new and exciting places. His cosmic vision of electronica will be shown live in June 2025 in Katowice, Poland.
The lineup for the first announcement of the 20th edition of the festival also includes Mathew Jonson. The Canadian artist has developed one of the most distinctive sounds in electronic music. When you hear one of Jonson’s tracks, you know almost immediately that it is his work. The artist combines a deep understanding of the ins and outs of melody and harmony with the powerful energy of techno and house. The result is a rare combination of popular intensity and deep musicianship that is sure to delight Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice regulars.
The last, but for many fans perhaps the most interesting artist in the list, is Zamilska. The Polish producer and composer creates dystopian electronic music. Zamilska’s authorial vision captivates with momentum and an aura of awesomeness. Each of her concerts is an exuberant dose of monstrous bass and powerful beats, putting the audience into a dancing trance. It will be the same at the 20th edition of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice!
This is just the beginning of the announcements. More information about TNMK 2025 will be revealed soon, and it’s worth taking care of your tickets today.
