Tauron Nowa Muzyka Pop-Up in Kraków!

The festival season is done and dusted, time to return to clubs! On November 17, the Łaźnia Nowa Theatre in Kraków will host the second edition of the unique Tauron Nowa Muzyka Pop-Up project! The signature events of the festival feature performances by world-class artists, and this one won’t be any different.

Tauron Nowa Muzyka Pop-Up is a special project, the first edition of which took place in June in the city of Wrocław:

„The first edition featured performances by Mouse On Mars, Meute, Michael Mayer and Sebastian Mullaert. The second concert will take place in Krakow with a different lineup. We chose these two cities because they’re close to our heart and constitute prominent cultural hubs, but above of all they’ve been showing a growing interest in electronic music and the Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice festival. Every year, the city of Katowice welcomes many fans of our event from the south of Poland. The goal of the one-day Pop-Up series is to promote our main event among the residents of Kraków who haven’t made it to the Festival yet, and to encourage them to visit their close neighbours in June” – says Adam Godziek from More Music Agency, organizer of the Festival.

The second act of the mini-tour will be held in the Kraków-based Łaźnia Nowa Theatre. Formerly hosting school workshops, this post-industrial space is the perfect place to meet artists famous for experimenting with forms and structures. This is going to be an excellent opportunity to experience the unique atmosphere of Nowa Muzyka in a club environment.

The event will be headlined by !!! (ChkChkChk). The band is famous for their energetic performances, combining punk dirt and chaos with the lightness of funk and club music influences. Last year, the exclamation marks presented their music at the Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice festival, and most of the participants and journalists unanimously agreed that it was one of the best concerts, not only of that edition! The audience gathered in front of the stage was captivated by Nic Offer’s inexhaustible energy and the band’s unfailing intensity from the first till the last song. Pure dancing madness!

Similar inspirations gave rise to the Danish trio called WhoMadeWho. Their recordings merge noisy guitar riffs and electronic beats, while their live performances guarantee an electrifying show that the Nowa Muzyka regulars have already had a chance to experience more than once.

Britain’s Luke Vibertis one of the most unpredictable electronic music producers. Throughout a 25-year career, he’s already recorded techno, ambient, disco, drum’n’bass, downtempo and trip hop. Over the recent years, he’s been fascinated with acid and electro dance, which we can surely count on in Kraków.

The Fieldis one of the stars from the Kompakt label, and his music can be simply described as lacy ambient techno. The artist is famous for blurring the lines between experimental music, dance music and well thought out sound structures.

Moreover, the Łaźnia Nowa Theatre will host a performance by NOON, once considered one of Poland’s best hip-hop producers. For years, he’s also been composing experimental electronic music released on his own label, Nowe Nagrania.

The evening will be completed by hypnotic illuminations and excellent sound that Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice is famous for, among other things. The 14^thedition of the festival will take place on June 20-22, 2019!
