The penultimate weekend of June in Katowice already lures with an abundance of musical thrills, yet the festival programme keeps expanding! The 14thedition of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice has just been enriched by the Secret Stage and FAJRANT, which is the final fourth day at Sztauwajery! The Secret Stage will present a wide range of electronic and experimental beats, while FAJRANT constitutes a free dance marathon at the very end of the Festival, taking place in the Valley of Three Ponds (Dolina Trzech Stawów). And thus 13 new artists join the lineup!
The highlight of the Secret Stage will undoubtedly be the performance of an exceptional duo consisting of Atom TM & Jacek Sienkiewicz. These acclaimed artists have already worked together on the “Zero Time Collapsing” album and a few concerts. Their special set will combine common ideas from their respective musical visions. Some surprising sounds will also be delivered by Deena Abdelwahed.The Tunisian is famous for her unique fusion of genres, including bass, techno, house, experimental electro and Arabic folk music. During her performance on our Secret Stage, she’ll present a hybrid of a live act and a DJ set.
German DJ Anja Schneideris a globaltechno star and one of the most recognizable symbols of Berlin’s music scene. She had been running the legendary Mobilee label for years, but decided to leave it in 2017 to establish a brand new one, Sous Music. Anja Schneider never fails to deliver fresh sounds, and it won’t be any different during her set on the Secret Stage.
Austrian duo HVOB will introduce the audience to more pop vibes. Vocalist Anne Müller and producer Paul Wallner are famous for their dreamy songs combining techno and electro pop. We can count on a proper dose of exotic beats from Kenya’s Slikback. The DJ represents the world-renowned Nyege Nyege label and his unique sets combine footwork, trap, grime and African street music. The experimental dimension of the Secret Stage will be emphasized by the performance of Ptakh_Jungfrom Kiev. Music presented by the duo is full of film drama and cinematic tension, enhanced with rich keyboard sequences, electronic rhythms and intense guitar sounds.
The 14thedition of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice will be crowned with a free party in Katowice’s most charming summer spot. FAJRANTis a long-lasting dance marathon at Sztauwajery that will allow the participants to conclude the festival weekend in grand style. After a successful launch in 2015, Sztauwajery has quickly become one of the most interesting outdoor places in Katowice. The combination of a park space within the Valley of Three Ponds with modern forms of relaxation turned out to be a real hit and earned loyal fans. FAJRANTat Sztauwajery will be marked by dance psychedelia and immersive, hypnotic performances.
The headliner of the fourth festival day will be Israeli duo Red Axes, which enjoys great popularity in Poland. They will share the stage with German duo GYRLfamous for their industrial downtempo and techno with mellow, almost hip-hop tempo. Besides these international guests, the audience will have a chance to see some top artists from the Polish club scene. Piotr Bejnaris an eccentric live performer, constantly experimenting with diverse playing techniques. DJ Glasseis a true veteran, famous for perfectly mixed sets and a dark style. Raidhocombinesmodern electronic music with ethnic and folk elements from around the world, including Poland. Michał Margańskiis a DJ and journalists known as the host of the Potrójne Pasmo Przenoszenia (Triple Frequency Range) show on Polskie Radio Program III.The stage lineup is completed by Jaromir Kaminski, who runs the Polena Recordings label, focusing on the less obvious side of club music, sometimes referred to as the “Balearic music”.
