The great stars of electronic music and the most interesting new artists of recent years open the programme of the 19th edition of the festival! In June 2024, the duo Bicep, authors of many dance classics and masters of dancefloor energy, as well as drum’n’bass legends Chase & Status will perform in Katowice. The Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice programme also expands with IAMDDB, a charismatic vocalist with an unmistakable voice, and Nihiloxica, representatives of the Ugandan Nyege Nyege label combining techno with African polyrhythms. The main star of next year’s festival will be the British duo Bicep. They are currently one of the most respected DJs and electronic music producers. Their unique combination of club euphoria, dancefloor energy, modern production and nostalgic emotion is addictive to thousands of fans worldwide. Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson are the authors of such timeless hits as ‘Glue’ and ‘Opal’, as well as equally successful dance gems such as ‘Just’ and ‘Apricots’. They will be performing at the festival with a special Chroma audiovisual set, which they first performed in June this year. With a combination of advanced visuals, extraordinary lighting and a powerful sound, Bicep never fail to mesmerise audiences around the world. In June 2024, they will do it in Katowice!
Dance vibes at their best will also be brought by Chase & Status. They are undisputed legends of drum’n’bass music whose roots are firmly in underground club culture. Will Kennard and Saul Milton made their debut two decades ago. Their first album went gold within three months of release and their second album went double platinum, propelling Chase & Status into the mainstream. Since then, the band has collaborated with artists such as Nile Rodgers (Chic), Snoop Dogg, Pusha T, Rita Ora, Major Lazer, Craig David, Kano, Novelist, Dizzee Rascal, and Rihanna, for whom they have produced 3 albums. They have performed all over the world, still maintaining an unparalleled level. Their recent set at Boiler Room was unanimously considered one of the best in the platform’s history. They will present a similarly infectious sound at Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice!
The festival will also feature exceptional women and representatives of the global music scene. The charismatic singer and rapper IAMDDB attracts the audience with her unmistakable voice. The artist was born in Lisbon, but has lived in Manchester since her early years. Her real name is Diana De Brito and her work fuses a variety of genres under the self-proclaimed banner of ‘Urban Jazz’. Musical fusion is also represented by the Nihiloxica project. It is an intercontinental band formed by British producers Spooky-J & pq together with members of the Nilotika Cultural Ensemble from Kampala, Uganda. Their onstage fusion of raw, polyrhythmic drumming and synthetic bass and techno textures has captivated audiences around the world. Their performance could become one of the biggest surprises at next year’s festival.
More artists will soon join the programme of the 19th edition of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice. Between 20 and 24 June 2024, the Culture Zone in Katowice will once again pulsate with music and attract thousands of visitors.
