A duo of DJs and producers who have gained recognition and popularity with a series of remixes of other artists’ recordings. Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister made their debut in Vienna in the 1990s, quickly setting global standards. Their original, stylish fusion of trip hop, dub, jazz, ambient and drum’n’bass became their trademark. Releases such as the two-disc collection of their remixes ‘The K&D Sessions’ (1998) and the still-fresh set series ‘DJ Kicks’ (1996) remain milestones in their discography. They remixed Madonna and Depeche Mode, among others. Tempted by the mainstream, however, they chose their own paths. Kruder & Dorfmeister’s debut album, simply entitled ‘1995’, was not released until a quarter of a century after it was recorded (2020). In the meantime, the two men developed side projects, such as Peace Orchestra and Tosca, and co-managed the G-Stone label. Over time, their work has evolved, broadening their trip hop base with influences from minimalism, ambitious pop, new wave and house music. Kruder & Dorfmeister’s live show is an exciting journey through the universal sounds of ‘The K&D Sessions’.
