A kaleidoscope of sounds at Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice 2024!

Techno stars, a master of contemporary electronica, a famous experimentalist, as well as a street band from Kinshasa and a pianist following in the footsteps of Nils Frahm – the next artist announcement of the 19th edition of the festival impresses with its wealth of themes. The line-up opens with a master of contemporary electronica hiding under the pseudonym Clark. One of the flagship artists of the esteemed Warp label is back this year with two new albums. The co-producer of the album ‘Sus Dog’ is none other than Thom Yorke (Radiohead) himself. “The world is coming to an end and Clark is writing the soundtrack to it,” assessed the influential Pitchfork website. At Clark’s live performance in June in Katowice, Poland, we can expect the very expressive sounds.

The festival will not be short of quality techno. The unconventional face of this genre will be presented by Dasha Rush. The Berlin-based artist combines emotionally driven experimentation with dense layers of sound, as well as visual exploration and performance art. In June, we will also hear one of the world’s most respected DJs. DVS1 is synonymous with versatile, powerful and energetic sets. The live formula will feature Swedish producer Dorisburg, whose live performances are characterised by an unearthly magic that adds atmosphere to even the heaviest and most hypnotic beats. A unique atmosphere will also prevail when Hector Oaks appears on the festival stage. This Spanish DJ specialises in playing exclusively from vinyl records. He is currently a mainstay of the international techno scene and is constantly present on the programmes of the most important festivals. Also playing in Katowice in June will be Martin Kohlstedt. The German pianist intuitively combines the world of acoustic instruments with electronic landscapes and field recordings. Also mixing the new with the old is KOKOKO!, a collective that originated on the streets of Kinshasa. It is made up of musical instrument builders made from street waste and French producer Débruit, and the result of their meeting is distorted, fast rhythms and a chaotic soundtrack for reality.

This is still only the beginning of the announcements. More artists will soon join the programme of the 19th edition of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice. Between 20 and 24 June 2024, the Culture Zone in Katowice will once again pulsate with music and attract thousands of visitors. Unique emotions, memorable concerts, exceptional artists and a unique location – this is the shortest recipe for the Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice festival. It is worth visiting again.
