This year we enter the summer solstice under the sign of New Music! The 19th edition of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice starts on Thursday, 20 June. It is the beginning of four days of musical madness. The event, which will feature almost 50 performers, kicks off the national festival season in style. Passes and tickets for the festival are still available for purchase at festiwalnowamuzyka.pl.
The programme of the 19th edition of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice is full of fresh faces, big stars, musical surprises and sentimental returns. Among the invited artists are Róisín Murphy, Bicep, Chase & Status, Clark, DJ Krush, Leftfield, Kury, Kruder & Dorfmeister and many more. The festival excitement begins on Thursday 20 June at a special opening concert at the IKMO headquarters. The star of the show will be Robert Henke and his audiovisual project CBM 8032, a performance for five old computers from the 1980s. Then it will be time for the two festival days proper in the Culture Zone, where six separate stages will appear. The International Congress Centre will host the two largest stages. The main City of Music Stage will stand there, as well as the Tauron Music Hall. Festival-goers will also be able to listen to fresh sounds in the NOSPR Concert Hall. Three further stages are the result of cooperation with festival partners. The Amphitheatre powered by Lech means energetic live concerts, the T-Mobile Electronic Beats stage will present the best in club music, and the Secret Stage powered by Prime Video will invite you to dance until dawn. The official festival clubs Sztauwajery and JAZBAR Muchowiec will be open throughout the 19th edition of the event. It is at JAZBAR that FAJRANT!, a dance marathon to close the festival on Sunday 23 June, will take place.
In addition to pulsating sounds, there will be plenty of activities from other fields of art and culture in the broadest sense. The Culture Zone will feature the Festival Cinema, run in cooperation with the Silesia Film Institute. The well-being of the audience will be taken care of by exhibitors from the gastronomic zone, which will offer a wide range of products for meat eaters, gluten-free people, vegetarians and vegans. The Festival’s Fashion Zone will allow you to enrich your wardrobe with unique creations, while the Chimney Sweep Zone will enable you to relax with a shisha. As in previous years, visitors will be able to take advantage of a public keg truck to hydrate themselves for free. As in previous years, there will also be a Children’s Zone, prepared by the Tika private kindergarten. Special festival activities are also planned by the Silesian Museum.
Between 20 and 23 June 2024, Katowice will once again pulsate with music and attract thousands of visitors. Unique emotions, memorable concerts, exceptional artists and a unique location – this is the shortest recipe for the Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice Festival. It is worth visiting again.
