Revealing the secret: Secret Stage at Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice!

This year’s edition of the festival is getting another stage! Secret Stage is the place where a wide spectrum of club sounds will play during the festival – from dark disco through minimal and tech house to dubstep. At the same time, the festival program grows, including such stars as Skream and Âme, as well as the most interesting representatives of the Polish scene: Mihvu & Sonik, SAS and Weikum. The Secret Stage returns to the festival after several years of absence. In the past, it was there that the memorable performance of the HVOB duo took place, as well as the sounding of sets by DJ greats. This time will be no different, as the Secret Stage returns to the area around the food and beverage zone, creating another musical offer for festival goers hungry for danceable sounds. At the same time, the festival program grows by 5 projects. A high-energy dancefloor experience will be provided by Skream – his powerful set will be the nail on Saturday’s Secret Stage program. In the first decade of the .00s, the Londoner earned a lasting place in music history as a dubstep pioneer. However, instead of resting on his laurels, he redirected his attention to the dance sounds of disco, house and techno. He has enjoyed worldwide success in this role as well, remaining one of electronic music’s most respected DJs. On the other hand, Friday’s main star will be Âme. The creators of such hits as “Rej,” “Balantine” and Ry X’s hugely popular remix of the song “Howling” are the absolute top of the European club scene. The co-founders of the highly respected Innervisions label are known for their conceptual and exceptionally exciting music, which has defined the sound of European minimal and tech house. The festival will hear Âme in a live edition.

In addition to the previously announced artists, some of Poland’s most interesting DJs will perform on the Secret Stage as well. We will hear three representatives of The Cat Club: Mihvu, Filip Sonik and SAS represent the dark disco style, i.e. dark and decadent sounds, in which hypnotic arpeggios and nostalgic synth passages are complemented by lusty vocals. This is disco in an unusual way, and their passion for music is complemented by their love of creatively decorating the spaces in which they play.

This year’s winner of the Munoludy award will also play on the Secret Stage. WEIKUM was voted the best house DJ in Poland. The Warsaw-born DJ and producer is closely associated with labels such as Circus Recordings and Glasgow Underground. He is a regular guest at venues such as Sfinks700, Wisłoujście, Oczki, Smolna, Tama, Transformator, Piekło nad Niebem, Prozak 2.0 and Luzztro, as well as festivals such as Sunrise Festival, Mayday and Audioriver. In Katowice, he will take the audience on a long journey through the best sounds of prog, deep and tech house.

Thus, this year’s festival program is already growing to 45 artist projects, and this is still not the end of the announcements. More artists will soon join the program of the 19th edition of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice. Between June 20 and 24, 2024, Strefa Kultury w Katowicach will once again pulsate with music and attract thousands of visitors. Unique emotions, memorable concerts, exceptional artists and a unique location – this is the shortest recipe for the Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice festival. It is worth visiting again.
