From the mine to the stage

The former KWK "Katowice" mine. Today – the Culture Zone: a festival space pulsating with sound in the heart of the city. Every summer, several thousand Tauron Nowa Muzyka fans fill the area between Spodek and three monumental buildings of contemporary architecture.

  • Architecture with character

The grass-covered roof of the International Congress Centre offers an excellent viewpoint overlooking Katowice. The new headquarters of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, designed by Japanese specialists, offers some of the best acoustic conditions in Europe. The Silesian Museum, hidden 13 meters underground, boasts intriguing architecture that evokes the mining tradition of the city and region.

  • The new heart of Silesia

Coal and steel are a thing of the past. Katowice attracts visitors with its diverse cultural offerings and architecture, which quickly made the Culture Zone one of the city's main tourist attractions. In summer, the space transforms into a festival arena with extensive dining and shopping options.

  • A region that is vibrant

There are many places like the Katowice Cultural Zone in the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis.
